Kanji characters
Kanji ( Chinese characters) came originally from china.
Chinese characters is derived from picture writing. I don’t know exactly when Chinese established Chinese characters. Some Japanese monk went to china and brought Chinese characters in Japan. After that, Japanese people changed Chinese characters little bit simpler so that they can write easily. Every each Chinese character has different meanings. Chinese created characters from pictures and simplify them so that people can easy to write. Some of the characters are made out of few simple characters put together.
In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.
He was in the beginning with God. John 1: 1-2
Word is God
It is so amazing to think about the many languages of the world, but according to the Bible they all began with one language. Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.Genesis11:1 People started to make cities and towers so that they could reach heaven. God saw what they were trying to do so He needed to stop it. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begin to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” So the Lord scattered them there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. Genesis11:6-8
That is why there are so many languages are existed in the world now.
When you see some of the languages are very similar like Spanish, Italian, English, but it is hard to find similarities between English and Chinese or Japanese. The writings are especially different.
Christianity has been spread throughout the world but a lot of people from Japan still think Christianity is western religion. Who would think that there is some amazing Christian message imbedded in Kanji characters?
I was so astonished when the Holy Spirit started to reveal me the truth of some of the Kanji.
According to the Bible, God himself was the word. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God. John1:1
Have you ever wondered why we have languages and where the words came from?
The Bible said that God created us in God’s image. Why? So that God can communicate with us and have a fellowship with us. God didn’t create us like animals barking each other to communicate. It’s so nice to have words to communicate with each other. It is so nice to have words to comfort each other when someone really needs to hear it. It is so wonderful to have word to express love to others. God gave us word so that we can communicate with each other. More than anything else, God wanted to communicate with us. We lost communication with God since Adam and Eve failed to keep His commandment which He told them not to eat the fruits from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. So sin came into our mankind. This sin separated us from God. God used about 40 people throughout history at different times and different places and wrote the Bible to show his love to us. The entire Bible points to Jesus Christ. God wanted to restore the communication that we lost through our sins.
This kanji character means “God”.
What kind of images do people have about “God”? Any tribe on the earth, any nations they believe their “gods”. Some tribes believe that god is in a crocodile because it has power (From Robinson Crusoe) People make their own god to make themselves feel good with anything.
Japanese people carry around a little tiny bag with a piece of meaningless paper inside for protection. They never doubt what is in the little bag. They are afraid to open. If people can put god in the little bag and they really believe that can protect them, but how small their god is ?
When I was a kid, I used to hear grown up said, “God will punish you if you do that…..”
Power, protection, punishment, those are the images that people have about god. What about love, kindness, mercy, grace?
Some people think they don’t need God their life they have everything what they need.
Or some people think god does not exist. Both they don’t need god or they believe there is no god, they will all cry out and say “God help me. “When they are about to die.
What Bible says about “GOD”?
Bible says” In the begging God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis1:1
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.” Genesis1:27
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, e Ps 139:14
Bible declares that God is our creator and He created us as his image. What is his image? “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1john4:7,8
One of His image is LOVE.
The left part of this kanji means " to show ".
The right part of it means " to say or to tell ".
Also, the square on the right means mouth.
There is a cross top of mouth.
God showed himself through Jesus on the cross.
God told his LOVE through Jesus on the cross.
God tells us who he is on the cross.
The cross can show you the way you out.
God showed His love through Christ on the cross. Jesus Christ was “the word became flesh and his dwelling among us.”John1:14
This is how God showed his LOVE among us: He sent his Son as an anointing sacrifice for our sins. 1John4:9
What other religion talks about LOVE? What other gods died on the cross for our sins? God is not a tree or some animal or moon or star or sun. God is
your creator and loves you so much.
